Back from San Francisco and Ready to Rock!

Ad:tech San Francisco was a great show. The 365 gang was there in force, we had Marc, Sheetal, Ulysses, Josh, and Moe to represent the network. It was our first time exhibiting at an ad:tech, and everything went off without a hitch. Our booth was in a great location at a major crossroads in the show, and we were busy even during the typically slower second day on Wednesday. At first glance the show seemed to be a bit smaller than last year’s, but that could be because they split the exhibit hall onto two separate floors this year. The lower floor where our booth was located was definitely more busy than the upper floor for the duration of the show.
For those that have never been to an ad:tech before, it is quite overwhelming when you first arrive to realize just how many companies and individuals there really are in our industry. The lines to pickup your badges and register for the show took about 45 minutes to get through, it was definitely better than the mess at Affiliate Summit West earlier this year.
The general mood on the floor was very enthusiastic, we didn’t get much of a sense that the economy has slowed down our industry at all. There were quite a few investors, lawyers, and Venture Capital folks roaming the floor as well, looking for new networks to buy or invest in. This is a good sign that even Wall Street is still seeing potential in the Performance Marketing space.

Headed To Ad:Tech

We are less than one week away from the beginning of Ad:Tech San Francisco 2009, and we are excited about it! We are going to be exhibiting at this show, so be sure to stop by booth #1862 if you are attending.
For those of you not attending, I would highly recommend that you attend a show later this year. The Affiliate Marketing Industry can seem a little claustrophobic when you are in your office or at home on the computer all day, and it is so refreshing to get out in the real world and network with other professionals in the industry. Not only can you meet fellow affiliates, but also your Affiliate Managers at 365 Ad Solutions and just about every other network out there. Putting a face to a name and building your relationship with these people can have a very positive and lucrative effect on your business. Who would you rather work with, somebody that is just an email address and an AIM screenname, or the guy that you had drinks with in San Francisco?
Another benefit of going to these trade shows is that you get to see how big this industry really is. You’ve probably heard that it’s huge, but until you walk into the Exhibit Hall and see for yourself, words don’t do it justice. There are so many people and companies that are just as excited as you are about Affiliate Marketing, you can’t help but feed off the energy. Just ask any affiliate who has been to a show if they come home energized and ready to make some serious money.
There are quite a few different shows in the industry now, but if it’s your first time then I would highly recommend either Ad:Tech or Affiliate Summit. These are the biggest ones, and you will find us there for all four of these each year. So if we don’t see you next week, we look forward to seeing you all at Affiliate Summit East in August!
